The 4th Haydn String Quartet Festival
Posterity justly regards Joseph Haydn as the „father of the string quartet”, since it was he who transformed the Rococo chamber string quartet into a distinct genre during his years in Eszterháza. It was under Haydn that the string quartet reached full maturity in form and style parallel to the advances he made in the development of symphonies. By laying the foundations, Haydn established a general direction for later musical geniuses and masters.

Budapest International Wine and Champagne Festival - Gala
The Galakonzert of the 19. Budapest International Wine and Champagne Festival is composed of the works of Hungarian composers. The solemn works of Erkel, Dohnányi, Liszt and Kodály sound. Contributor is - after the traditions - Óbuda Danubia Orchestra, the Liszt concert is played by Jenő Jandó.

St. Gellert Festival in Szeged
With the support of the Szeged-Csanád Diocese and the Ferenc Gál Theological College of Szeged, the St. Gellert Festival was organized for the first time in the year 2008. The main purpose of the concert series bearing the name of one of the first bishops of Hungary is to invite the audience of Szeged, and all who are interested, to yet another music and art event that would express the strong connection between religion, music and spirituality. The tradition-creating St. Gellert Festival promises elevating artistic, cultural and special musical experiences.

Budapest Mahler Festival 2010
The Palace of Arts in association with the Budapest Festival Orchestra organises the Budapest Mahler Festival for the 6th time, opening on September 9th with a concert of the NDR Symphony Orchestra conducted by Christoph von Dohnányi. The world-famous musician (grandson of Ernő Dohnányi) will begin his concert with a concerto-overture of the renowned clarinetist-composer Jörg Widmann, followed by Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto (with Jörg Widmann’s solo). In the second part of the evening they will play Mahler’s Symphony No. 4. with soprano Christiane Oelze.

Capilla Flamenca in the Basilica
The Capilla Flamenca vocal and instrumental ensemble received its name from the choir of the royal court of Charles V. When the monarch left Flanders in 1517, he took his best musicians with him so they can accompany him to Spain as a “living polyphony.” Musicians of the Capilla Flamenca, who are still recruited primarily from Flanders, resound the unique melodies of 15-16th century in an authentic manner.

Erkel-Mahler Year 2010
The year 2010 is a double anniversary for the classical music, there we celebrate the composer of the Hungarian hymn, Ferenc Erkel, from cause his 200. Birth anniversary, and the world-famous composer, Gustav Mahler - he was the music-director of the Opera House three years long - was born 150 years ago. City Gyula, Erkel Társaság, Budapest Spring Festival, Miskolc International Opera Festival, Filharmónia Budapest Nonprofit Kft, Hungarian State Opera, Ferenc Liszt Memorial Museum, Hungarofest Nonprofit Kft, KLASSZ Zenei Iroda and several institutes of Budapest and of other cities tribute to the outstanding composers on several places, with multicolored programs.
